Gabriel Sandoval, M.A.

Graduate Research Associate

Gabriel Sandoval is a third-year PhD student in the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies within the School of Global Studies at the University of Arizona. As the Graduate Research Associate for the SBSRI, Gabriel provides support for his graduate peers in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences by connecting them to funding opportunities, reviewing drafts of their applications, and aspiring to enhance the variety of research taking place within the college. Gabriel brings his experience as an editor for James Madison College at Michigan State University, where he edited research papers on Islamic Architecture from faculty at American, Indonesian, and Middle Eastern universities. He has also worked as a writing tutor for both undergraduate and graduate students, and was the TA for an undergraduate Building Connections course at the U of A. His own research interests include International Relations between North Africa and Europe, specifically between Spain and Morocco. He is also interested in the historical connection between Spain and the Maghreb.
