Dr. Maria Teresa Valez Scholarship-- apply now!

The Dr. Maria Teresa Velez Leadership Scholarship is an award given annually to a doctoral student who has demonstrated a commitment to furthering inclusion in higher education and the community at large through their teaching, research, or service. The award consists of $25,000 plus full graduate tuition and health insurance for a one-year period. 

 

Applications are due March 15, 2026. Students must obtain a letter of recommendation from a U of A faculty member that highlights the student's inclusion experience. Students must have passed their comprehensive examinations before applying to the award.
