Chaelin Kwon Receives SBSRI Pre-doctoral Research Grant

Congratulations to Chaelin Kwon from the School of Government and Public Policy who received a SBSRI Pre-doctoral Research Grant.

Chaelin's project explores the role of transnational war-related protests—collective actions with conflict-related demands by noncombatants outside conflict zones—in shaping third-party interventions in interstate and intrastate wars. Employing natural language processing (NLP) tools and hand-coding methods, Chaelin will collect and analyze original protest event data to explore how these protests drive international responses in different conflict settings.
