Applications due 11/01/25: Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship

Wednesday

The Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship supports doctoral students who are writing dissertations that start meaningful conversations regarding religious understanding, values, and ethics. To be eligible, students must be in the final year of their doctoral program, have finished all of their coursework and comprehensive exams, and must have received approval for their dissertation plans prior to the fellowship application deadline. Students receiving the award will be awarded a $31,000 stipend to offset their living expenses. Interested students must contact their unit head and SBSRI to discuss the requirement for an institutional commitment (i.e., waiving tuition and fees during the fellowship period).

Deadline: November 1, 2025, with finalists having to submit a full proposal + two letters of recommendation at a date to be determined in early 2026
