Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon II offers $750K awards

Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development's Latin America and the Caribbean regional bureau (USAID/LAC), is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) for the second phase of the Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA II) in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Applications are due June 28, 2012.

As part of the 2012 Higher Education Partnership Program, HED expects to make four (4) awards (one award per host country) of up to $750,000 each for three (3) years for higher education partnerships between U.S. higher education institutions and higher education institutions in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The purpose of the partnerships will be to support national and local development goals that promote the conservation of biodiversity and maintenance of the Andean Amazon Biome.
