Luke Xin (Anthropology) Receives SBSRI Pre-doctoral Research Grant

Congratulations to Luke Xin at the School of Anthropology who received a SBSRI Pre-doctoral Research Grant.
 
Luke's project is to understand how Chinese male bodybuilders navigate and perform masculinity and gender identities in their daily lives. He will explore the ways they build and display muscular physiques to convey strength, power, and manhood through various material objects, such as equipment, medicine, nutritional supplements, attires, etc. The study investigates how their bodily practices and social interactions across various settings, like gyms and public spaces, shape masculine identities.
