Emily Jonsson (Anthropology) Receives Fall 2023 SBSRI Pre-doctoral Research Grant

Congratulations to Emily Jonsson (School of Anthropology) for receiving a Pre-doctoral Research Grant!

Emily's work examines Jicarilla Apache heritage values and their application at the La Jara archaeological site located on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation in northern NM. By combining ethnographic and oral history interviews with collections analysis, she intends to address ongoing management concerns related to the La Jara site, contributing to the preservation of cultural resources and cultural knowledge for the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
