Description

The Center of Military History funds three civilian citizens of the U.S. who are preparing dissertations of the history of warfare each year. One of these fellowships is designed to support research on the material culture of the Army. The other two fellowships support research other aspects of the history of war on land, broadly defined. Topics include biography, military campaigns, military organization and administration, policy, strategy, tactics, weaponry, technology, training, logistics, and the evolution of civil-military relationships. Preference is given to topics pertaining to the U.S. Army. Fellows are required to visit the center but can use the center's resource to assist them with their dissertation.
