Description
The Postdoctoral Research Development Grant (PRDG) is a newly established (FY18) internal funding mechanism to support University of Arizona (UA) postdoctoral scholars in the development of their independent research skills to advance their careers. These grants are specifically designed to help promote independence of postdoctoral scholars by providing funds for additional research training or experience that is outside the scope of their current postdoctoral appointments.

The following are examples of activities that are allowable for support under the PDRG mechanism:
  • Funds to attend a professional development workshop or webinar to gain additional research training not available on campus
  • Funds to travel to another institution to learn a new research technique or approach
  • Funds for a small, independent research project not supported or associated with that of the primary postdoctoral mentor
