NSF has posted some changes to the SBE postdoctoral fellowship. The applications are due by October 29, 2012. This fellowship provides a maximum of two years of support to Fellowship candidates who received their PhDs within 24 months of the application deadline. There are no institutional limits, but the candidate cannot participate in more than one application of this type. The host institution handles the application and award. This mechanism has two tracks. One emphasizes "individuals from under-represented groups as well as institutions and geographic areas that do not participate in NSF research programs at rates comparable to others." The other emphasizes "interdisciplinary training where at least one of the disciplinary components is an SBE science."
