The LAII's Operations Committee will award the grants based on the relevance of the proposal to the unique holdings of UNM University Libraries, the merits and significance of the project, and the applicant's scholarly qualifications. Special consideration will be given to projects that utilize the research materials available through the Colonial Latin American or New Mexican and Southwest documentary collections at Zimmerman Library's Center for Southwest Research. Recipients will work to promote scholarly use of the Latin American collections, focusing on objectives with specific relevance to the UNM Library collections. LAII will assist awardees in identifying and networking with UNM scholars in relevant fields.
